The Constitution
The Constitution is the document our country uses to determine the law. It is the supreme law of the land and overrides any other laws put in place. It has been in effect since March 4, 1789. There are six basic principles in which it is based on; popular sovereignty, limited government, separation of powers, checks and balances, judicial review, and federalism. If need be, there are also four ways to amend the Constitution.
